Shell Gadus S3 V460 is a premium, heavy-duty, high-temperature, full EP multipurpose grease. • protection for EP bearings, as it passes the four-ball weld load test at 400 kg (ASTM D2596 test method), which exceeds the 250-kg minimum weld load that a grease must pass to be classified as having good load-carrying properties (ISO 6743-9)
• good corrosion protection, as it achieves a rating of 3 in synthetic-seawater bearingcorrosion tests (IP 220/ASTM D6138) in which a rating of 0 represents no visible corrosion and a rating of 5 indicates more then 10% corrosion.

• over 100 hours of bearing life during severe 140°C testing compared with Shell Gadus S2 V460A, which has 100 hours of bearing life at 120°C.

• significantly better mechanical stability in the presence of water than Shell Gadus S2 V460A, as there is less than a 40-dmm change in consistency after 100,000 work strokes at 25ºC with 10% water (ASTM D217 test method).
